Good points, Ralphy. I think too many people think that since divisions and sects are often caused by differences of opinion with regard to doctrine that it is the differences of opinion that are the sin. But it is the division, for whatever reason, that is the sin, no the differences. We should stay together DESPITE the differences, as Paul says on numerous occasions.
To illustrate: Wars are condemned. Wars are often caused by racial differences. Does that mean we should eliminate all racial differences? Of course not. We should just eliminate the war.
