Ah. Not quite. What God says is truth. It's not exactly the same. He doesn't limit himself. He has no limits.
A lie from us reveals a heart that's not right, hence God hates them. God's heart - his character - is not so flawed.
If he was to say "those frogs are purple." Then the frogs would be purple, not green, because God says so. Now whether they were green beforehand, and they changed, or whether they were always purple and my brain had a wrong understanding about purple is open to debate.
But if God wants to lie, he can. It's just not the same for him because anything spoken by God is truth by definition.
Does this make sense?
Maybe it's because it's 7.30 am here.
Purple frogs'd be cool don't you think.
(And yes, for any pedants out there, I know there are some species of purple frog!!!!!!!! I'm talking about the plain, old British variety)
