Which takes us right back to having to shoulder the responsibility for testing every inspired utterence ourselves. Individually.

You have an individual relationship with God and the WT is denying it's adherants that fundememental need.

Whose fault is it? The WT's (and other religious leaders) or the people who don't seek God for themselves?

Or is it six of one and half a dozen of another???

Much love and shalom.

Re:The Word - 2005/04/07 01:33 Hi Donbodo,

=====You say that certain factors prove inspiration, and they are as follows: -----

The list I made was only to show what I would require if someone claimed they knew which books or parts of books in the Bible were from God and which were not.

I was trying to highlight the seriousness of such a claim or act and what imo it would take for such a one to be believed or what it should take anyway, imo.

As for inspiration in general, I believe God's spirit helps many people and in vaious ways. Some may write with God's spirit, others may act with God's spirit and still others speak and embrace their fellow while in and with the spirit.

My list was only pertaining to changing the Bible not to the evidences of the spirit we see at times all around us and in us.

Peace and love to you,
Josh

Great question. I think some people dont search for him because they don't understand yet that there is anything more to search for. They might just feel empty and lost and don't know why. They have been told that what they already experience as formal Christians is all God is offering them (their teachers can even use the Bible to 'prove' it). Unfortunately, the people believe them, usually in all innocence. So I think it is a case of six of one and half a dozen of another. We do each have the responsibility for our own relationship with God, but some don't realize that, because they have been indoctrinated to believe otherwise. And I think religious leaders do bear some blame. I can't help thinkig of the following Scriptures.

"I've had it with you! You're hopeless, you religion scholars, you Pharisees! Frauds! Your lives are roadblocks to God's kingdom. You refuse to enter, and won't let anyone else in either."You're hopeless, you religion scholars and Pharisees! Frauds! You go halfway around the world to make a convert, but once you get him you make him into a replica of yourselves, double-damned. (Matt 23:13-15)

"You're hopeless, you religion scholars! You took the key of knowledge, but instead of unlocking doors, you locked them. You won't go in yourself, and won't let anyone else in either." (Luke 11:52) Message Bible.

Much Philia.
