Re:The annointed - who and how many really - 2005/08/29 06:45My brother, I can only speak for me. I hope that I would be able to give my life even for the misled and misleading, for then I know that I would have been found worthy to be one of the anointed. I am searching for truth and tring to learn how to love.

An edifying response - I thank you brother.

I am more inclined to have the same view of these disciples as the men of Ephesus.
2 ‘I know your deeds, and your labor and endurance, and that you cannot bear bad men, and that you put those to the test who say they are apostles, but they are not, and you found them liars.
In fact this very scripture indicates that a test does exist with which to make an identification.

humm I like that idea. Honesty is a must for someone to be considered faithful, how much more so a faithful servant.
Re:The annointed - who and how many really - 2005/08/29 21:31I am interested in your thoughts of the meaning of the scripture you quoted In Matthew 22. Although I too have thought this applied to the anointed, thus the faithful slave, but I'm beginning to think that it may apply to all the faithful, and that the parable has more to do with why the Jews were rejected than with the hope of heavenly life.Yet, the mention of the one being rejected is a quandery to me, because it represents so few when so many are rejected. And if the banquet is in heaven (as in the wedding banquet of the Lamb), how could he be rejected from there? Perhaps I should be starting a new forum for this, but I'm not sure if you would find it (I'm new at this).

Jim,
I do have a few thoughts on this and would discuss them with you. I have found that by merely discussing the scriptures truths are discerned. In this thread more than half of the discernments I have discussed were made soon after reading your responses. In other words previous to this thread I had not discerned many of the things which are unique to this thread. I believe that sharing thoughts is therefore an extremely valuable process towards discerning truths.
So although the thoughts I presently have in regards to this topic are very few I expect there should be very many afterwards.
This gives credence to the scripture which says: "where two or three are gathered in my name". Certainly if profound truths are now being discerned the credit belongs to our King the Lord Jesus. I must continue to remember to give thanks for this in my prayers.
Perhaps if you start a new topic in this forum we could share thoughts in regards to Matthew 22 there.
regards
