Re:Divinity vs. Deity of Jesus - 2005/09/08 14:25 Dear Dontomas,

Glad we can help clarify things a bit. It is all a bit confusing I must admit.

If you can get hold of the JW publication 'Reasoning from the Scriptures', pages 416 & 417 have some excellent points re John 1:1,2. Those scriptures, of course, make it absolutely clear that the Logos, Jesus, is of the same nature as Theos. Many translations besides the NWT are quoted there that bring this out. The difference of course is that the Logos is not Ho Theos, ie, not THE God (Almighty God, the Father), who other scriptures revealed created the Logos and to whom the Logos is ultimately subject too, despite all the trinitarian rationalisations to the contrary, even after his resurrection and having been given all authority over creation (which excludes the creator, the Father).

Regards

Re:Divinity vs. Deity of Jesus - 2005/09/09 13:17 Once again - thanks to all. All of the good answers to this question and the others I had have changed how I look at these issues
