Millions? - 2005/07/30 07:37
"How could one man serve as a ransom for many, in fact, millions of humans? Well, how did humans numbering into the millions come to be sinners in the first place?"--What Does The Bible Really Teach; page 50, paragraph 11.
I called up Bethel and pointed out these two sentences which say, "one man... ransom for many, in fact, millions" and "humans numbering into the millions".
How else do you take that, except to say Jesus only is a ransom for "in fact" millions of humans instead of billions, and that there are only millions of humans today?
The brother acted like there is no mistake. I think it is more likely he could not see a mistake even if there was one.
The corporate religion of the watchtower is a society based on adoration of there governing body. Therefore they individually fall prey to mental thraldom which leads to moral, intellectual as well as spiritual emasculation.
If I wanted to talk with someone that is allowed to think, I suppose I would have to speak with one of the governing body. Would that help? I don't know. Maybe they would rather continue to print a mistake then be corrected by someone that is not in their elite circle.

In this way, JW's are like the fundamental Protestant peers who's mind are pre-occupied with a "Members-ONLY" salvation theory. It simply ruins all their fun if they must accpet that Jesus did indeed die for the WHOLE WORLD instead of just THEM.
