 What to do? - 2005/08/20 02:38 Hi Folks

I have been doing bible study with an extremely knowledgeable and good elder who has taught me a lot of things. I am really gaining conviction in his message but the Watchtower gives me the creeps. What should I do? I have no intention of converting to this organization but I must say that my understanding of these truths and applying them in my life has really made a difference.

However, as you continue to study with them, realize that eventually they'll start talking about getting you baptized. Of course it's up to you what you want to do when that time comes, but that time WILL come, I guarantee it. Just keep in mind how you will respond when they start asking you about it.

 Re:What to do? - 2005/08/25 12:46 Thanks for the responses, all of you. Bible study continues to go well but, you are right, I noticed a change in the elder's presentation when I admitted that I was benefiting from his efforts to reach me.

I would ask, however, if there are communities of like-minded people that accept these truths but are not Watchtower-ites? Watchtower's claims of being the Jehovah's only orgnizaiton and channel of revelation are, to me, not true. I think, as Watchtower claims, the scriptures speak for themselves in all major points. Furthermore, these truths pre-date Watchtower.
