Polemotheos,
I have indeed submitted an essay to this site. if you care to check carefully you will find it there I'm sure.

The one essay on meeting at a local congregation. By the way what do you think of forming your own congregation from your own ministry in your own life. It's working for me.

I'm most certainly not a Watchtower drone and I don't have an agenda to lead people back to the JW organisation (but if they do that I wouldn't dare criticise them for it). Isn't it apparent from my posts on this thread that all I am trying to argue is that all Christians have a scriptural obligation to try and associate together with other Christians, in a physical setting, and not just by the internet. Isn't it apparent from my posts that I am not saying it has to be with JW's, but with any religious group that holds to the 1st century primitive doctrine that those congregations back then believed.
It is true.

In fact I freely admit I am a hypocrite in this regard because I have not been associated with any congregation in any religion for about 18 months. I am still trying to work up the courage to do so because I believe I should do that for scriptural and common sense reasons.
As we teach others we teach ourselves.

I'm offended brother that you can say you like me in one breath and need me on this forum yet have no compunction about calling me a coward and a hypocrite in the next. I think that is very rude and unhristian.
I have come from a corporate religion that wanted to squash freedom of expresion. I find that a cowardly activity. Many hypocritical manifestations are produced.

I apologise for suggesting that this forum is losing credibility because it is becoming increasingly dominated by someone who I feel uses extreme eisegesis to consistently push some very peculiar, private interpretations. I think the JWreform goal is a very honourable one and agree with everything they stipulate as their goals. I just think we need to keep our feet on the ground here. I feel that those who wish to push bizarre teachings and a uniquely personal interpretation should do so on their own websites.
Maybe you didn't notice but there are many forums on this website, JWreform is only one of many. We are currently in the open forum. Do you really think Don wants us to form another closed society where people cannot investigate there interpretations through the help of other brothers and sisters? If you do not like this form of fellowship your welcome to keep your comments in the JWreform forum. Infact you can start a thread expressing your need to start a whole new superior class of people that only allows the elite class to talk about bible interpretation and then those, the many that are not. See how well that flys.

This isn't the proper forum to discuss the wrong things that you have implied about me. I don't know what I've said or written to make you so angry. Please remove me from the list of combatants in your war.

Jim,

I am not angry or at war with you or anyone else.

I do think it is entertaining to find a very wise man state that he is stupid.

You should consider that a complement.

I hope you continue posting your well thought out and rational insights as they have proved valuable to me.

Wuji,

Why discuss interpretations which are commonplace and already have the popular vote and so are safe?

That would become a very mundane pastime for me.

Something like opening a forum to discuss the weather.

Many people in the bible thought that what Jesus taught them was very peculiar and therefore accounted his words as having no value.

The bible doesn't say that people would be persecuted for saying something popular or even untrue.

The bible assures me that those who say the truth will indeed be ridiculed and persecuted. When someone is being persecuted or defamed for what they say in regard to scripture it causes me to take a much closer look at what is being said as there exists a greater chance that it is indeed true.

But that's me.

Others I am certain are motivated by popularity.

I would like to walk into a Kingdom Hall and freely discuss scripture.

It certainly would be nice to go to a geographical congregation and associate with true christians who really do treat other people the way they would like to be treated and yet, I have not found any.

I suspect that we will all be held accountable when we stand in front of the judgement seat for the way we treat other people in those geographic meeting places.

From reading some posts I think many people in internet forums think they will not be held accountable perhaps due to their annonymity.

I am convinced however, that Jesus will hold us accountable for the things we say on an internet forum wether we use an artificial moniker or not.

The Internet can be a very dangerous place.

Although dangerous it is also a source to find some very profound truths.

Definitely worth the risks.

I am going to stick around for a while if the admin will let me.
