A question on baptism - 2005/10/20 02:15 I am aware that Jehovah's Witnesses are not permitted to intermarry with people who are not baptised.

I am not certain wether a persons baptism or lack of it could interfere with business relationships inside of Jehovah's Witnesses.

Does anyone know what the ruling or principle is and which publication I could quote from?

Re:A question on baptism - 2005/10/29 14:51 Hello "Gabriel",

I usually just lurk here from time to time but your post caught my eye. By it I gather you have never been one of Jehovah's Witnesses? Is this correct?

Christian love to you,
Cecilia

I am one of Jehovah's Witnesses.

I asked the question because there seems to be contradictions in regard to business arrangements.

It would be good if everyone lurking would take some time to post.

thanks

PS I don't understand the Gabriel part of your post.

Hello again,

I believe the information you're seeking could be easily found in the Society's CD or the Watchtower Index volumes.

As for the "Gabriel part" here is a quote from the Society's Reference Bible, 1984 edition, Daniel 8:16 footnote for the name "Gabriel":

"Meaning 'an Able-Bodied One of God.' Heb., Gavriel, a combination of gever, 'an able-bodied man,' and El, 'God.'"

Verse 15 of Daniel 8: "Then it came about that, while I myself, Daniel, was seeing the vision and seeking an understanding, why, look! there was standing in front of me someone in appearance like an able-bodied man."

Christian love to you,
Cecilia
