From what do we flee? - 2004/10/12 12:51Hello friends, I have some thoughts to do with 'the fleeing' that create more questions than conclusions, and I hope to provoke some healthy discusion by airing them. Watchman's essay on 'will christianity survive the end of the world' helped click some of these thoughts into place. The answer he gave, which I agree with, is that it will NOT survive the end of the world - so my question is, does this have a parallel to the Jewish system not surviving the end of it's era? I hope this comes across clearly. The angle I'm coming from is, watchman encourages us to stick with the WT because Jesus stuck with the Jewish system depsite it's failings - but I wonder if rather than the WT being the 'Jerusalem' today, it is actually Christianity. So, we should stick with Christianity despite it's failings. (Actually, the Jewish system was perfect as is the Christian system, it is it's members that provide the failings). Has any of what I've said made sense...? So, from what do we flee, and what does the wilderness represent?
I am looking forward to some input!!

Re:From what do we flee? - 2004/10/13 18:17Interesting stuff SoC. I think I got what you are asking.
You are saying that Christianity is the parallel to the Jewish system, and this is what will not survive. Whereas, the WT may parallel something else.
Yes I can see where you are coming from and possibly why. If what you are saying is correct, then just as in the 1st Century, many came out of the Jewish system, then there might be an expectation that many will come out of the Christian system not just the WT system. That then widens the net so to speak.
I think there is a lot more to consider on this because there is still the issue of Abraham's seed from Keturah and Hagar (just to throw another spanner in there
Well, have to have a think about this
much love and spirit

Re:From what do we flee? - 2004/10/19 20:06It could be argued that the 'Jewish system' is stronger now than any time in history (including Biblical).

Re:From what do we flee? - 2004/10/26 11:16Hmmm Different! are you saying that Wt is part of christendoom (aka Babalyon the great) which may tie in with Rev 18:4 Get out of her my people or am I way off? In the book ofJeremiah we see that Gods people were in Babalyon 50:8,13 "Take to flight out of the midst of babalyon". The Revelation book published by the WTBS States on page 265, 22 comparing Matt 24:15,16. That since 1919 millions have obeyed the order to flee. But my ? is has babalyon the great been destroyed and if so where was I? .
The preceeding verse state she has fallen if she has already, how so? It seems as micheal says it! (Jewish system) seems stronger then ever.Maybe thing are getting brighter I dont know what are you thoughts by brothers.
You see Jehovah people are where according to Rev18:4 in Babalyon the great he calls them out from her. Now these are the words from Rev 18:4 "And I heard another voice out of Heaven say: Get out of her my people, if you do not want to share with her in her sins, and if you do not want to receive part of her plagues"
They are" note" 'ARE' Gods people they are not babalyonians or are they? if so why would Jehovah say "my people" What are we looking for when it comes to her destruction?
You can say the Jewish system was Gods system but tell me What did it become when Jerusalem was destroyed it desolved into babaloynish worship till Jahs time arrived for that system to be reactivated. But it wasnt fully activated because it still had mixed forms of bablyonish worship? What do you think brothers thanks
May you have peace

Re:From what do we flee? - 2004/10/26 12:09Hey Micheal, What do you mean by jewish system? Do you mean: - the watchtower OR - Actual fleshly jews and the network of wealthy jewish leaders like hollywood, (MGM, etc) - or is there another application you are alluding to.
thanks
And servent1, Hi bro!! Yeah! I tend to agree with what you have put forth above; apostate Jerusalem = Babylon the great. But instead of calling it, 'Christendom' I call it 'organised religion'.

Re:From what do we flee? - 2004/10/27 20:17Hey SoC how ya bud good to hear from you
It seems to that we have taken for granted that we as servants of Jehovah must be Humble the evidence should be ripe as in each and every Congo. But it is so hard to voice your thoughts on what it means to be a Servant of Jehovah.
I have been doing a study on the role of the Elders, the sheep they are to care for. It seems we have as sheep over step our bounds so to speak.
Bear with me please:
Baptizim First you Dedicate your life to Jehovah-you have chosen the course to serve him Next you tell the Elders (other sheep) you have Dedicated your life, Naturally you have to symbolise PUBLICLY that you have Dedicated your life to Jehovah So at what point do the Elders (other sheep)." Please TELL me",at what point do they look into the heart of a person (other sheep as well) and judge from it, if the person has Dedicated his life or not. How can they deny a person who has already (the only human Wittness) Dedicated his life to Jehovah. When one of the other sheep judges this one, isnt he really replacing Jehovah," dear I say it" (If this sound out of place please let me Know it just that I have a friend whose wife has been turn down for Baptizim 5 would you believe it 5 time yet she has Dedicate her life to Jehovah) so who actually is the Baptizim we practise too, Am I alright in thinking only Jehovah can say No and dose he ever think No! The Ethiopian Eunuch great example not only because he Dedicated his life that day but he also was baptized wow what a man. Next he never saw phillip again.so what was that all about. We see that the spirit lead Phillip up to this man. OK thats a hard one I dont wanna miss apply anything aganst the spirit for fear of displeasing Jehovah so Ill move on but just make metion that Phillip was one of the annouinted not the other sheep. Did Phillip ever Know what this mans life was like before they met, was he concerned with how he lived his life, I mean what if he was murderer or something? Its got me stumped. I really sence we are abusing the privilage of baptizim, Just like the Pharis.. and religouse leader of Jesus day they made it a burden to serve Jehovah. We can not see the heart of a person enough to know that they shouldnt or should be baptized. And why on this earth say "no", we all sin even after we get baptized how can we the other sheep hold people back from making public declaration Jehovah as their God.Praising his name as the soverign lord in their eyes. SO what is with all the requirements -10 hrs in the feild, regular meeting attendence the questions in the organization book, bbearing in mind knowladge puffs up I mean sure we have to bring our life in harmoney with Jehovah but thats all it should be "right"? I would like someone to just point out where in the bible there is a "no" to someone wanting to get baptize. It seems the other sheep are over stepping thier boundries I think I said enough I got plenty more to say but maybe Later.
And is gud 2 c u bro SoC U 2 Michael Jehovahs spirit be upon all u my brothers Thanks Servent1
