spirit's of prophets - 2005/04/19 06:22(1 Corinthians 14:31-33) 31 For YOU can all prophesy one by one, that all may learn and all be encouraged. 32 And [gifts of] the spirit of the prophets are to be controlled by the prophets. 33 For God is [a God], not of disorder, but of peace. As in all the congregations of the holy ones,
Please also remember; (2 Peter 1:21) . . .For prophecy was at no time brought by man’s will, but men spoke from God as they were borne along by holy spirit.
The point of these scriptures will become readily apparent;
και πνευματα προφητων προφηταις υποτασσεται—original text
And spirit's of prophets to prophets are subject--transliteration
And spirit's of prophets are subject to prophets--translation
Notice dominate mental inclination is not the “spirit's” in question for who has more then one? And besides “prophecy was at no time brought by man's will.” Also the NWT translates this as “And [gifts of] the spirit” indicating they believe this is describing there “holy spirit” doctrine.
I remember one brother telling me firmly it's holy spirit not holy spirit's. Well maybe we live in that paradigm because we changed the text when it spoke differently. Who would have thought that angels are the ones that communicate the prophecies to and through man? (Rev 1:1)Your Peace, Surrender, In You, YHVH Re-connect Co-operative

Re:spirit's of prophets - 2005/07/03 17:50Ha I found another verse that goes perfectly with it;
(Revelation 22:6) And he said to me: “These words are faithful and true; yes, Jehovah the God of the spirit's of the prophets sent his angel forth to show his slaves the things that must shortly take place.
Re:spirit's of prophets - 2005/07/04 07:43Yes, it seems there will be some multiplicity.
Daniel 12:3
3 “And the ones having insight will shine like the brightness of the expanse; and those who are bringing the many to righteousness, like the stars to time indefinite, even forever.

ablebodiedman My friend, I hesitate to take such a complement. Self glorifying theology often leads to self preservation theology.

I don't know if I need either. It seems to be a slippery slop of egotism. Which would only blind me from seeing the real stars
You think I am venerating you because I made a supporting post?
I am now curious to know what happens if I disagree.

ablebodiedman I don't know, it just reminded me of how the watchtower corporation, "living waters", and "the watchman" use scripture to prove there greatness.
I need no such thing.
But I will admit I have not been given any talent to discern prophecy so far. Only the basics. So who am I to dispute how to use a verse of prophecy.
None the less I will rather boast as respect to my weaknesses, that the power of the Christ may like a tent remain over me.
