Re:Are JW's fundamentalists? - 2005/04/29 17:53 Warrior wrote:

The only solution to this kind of mentality is either a liberal and lukewarm mindset that happily accepts all creeds and religions without a murmour, or else a mind that has encountered and is being changed by the supernatural power of the living God.

Hey Warrior, love this comment

Knowledge puffs up, but love builds up. If anyone thinks he has acquired knowledge of something, he does not yet know it just as he ought to know it. But if anyone loves God, this one is known by him - 1 Cor 8:1-3

Re:Are JW's fundamentalists? - 2005/04/30 03:05 One of the biggest challenges of overcoming the dogmatic mentality of a fundamental faith group like the JW org we come from..is this idea that is drilled in our heads or extreme black or white thinking. this extreme black and white thinking exists on both the far right and far left. Both have become convinced that no balanced middle exists,,,thus IS why they are either extreme left or right....

In this type of mind-set....there is either the Jerry Falwell types of the right or the Humanist anti-theist on the left. That fundamentalists mind-set is: "WE MUST remain rigid, intolerant..or lese all hell will break loose and we will end up being a atheist!" Well, to this I can tell you that I have been a recovering JW fundamentalist aka recovering theocratic addict for going on 9 years of soberity now...and happy to say i have not turn into an atheist, Humanist..and I found out there IS a balanced middle that is neither far left mythical nor extreme far right fundamental.
