"...Genlado
while I am happy you are here
and find the topic suitable
your use of language is
unlike any other JW I have met in international travels
so I want to say that you dont have to be a JW to post here..."
Evening : I've been one of Jehovah's Witnesses for almost 25 years, and I could remain a Witness if I desired. However, I will probably step down and leave the organization before too long. I just want to make sure that I don't cause too many problems for my wife & children (they're still zealous Witnesses, and don't know where I am spiritually).
I don't know whether your statement about my use of language should be viewed as a complement or an insult. I know that I tend to be verbose, but I picked that habit up prior to becoming a Witness. (I'm not the only Witness with this writing style; have you ever read the "God's Kingdom of a Thousand Years" book? We last studied that one in the late '70s or early 80s) If you choose to believe that I'm not a JW, that's up to you.
My real reason for coming to this forum is because of the quandry that I described above: Even though I don't believe the Witness' teachings any longer. However, I don't want to freak my family out. Furthermore, after all of these years in the organization, I will be walking away from all of the people that I call "friends."
I'm not interested in blasting the Witnesses, because most of them are trying to do what's right. I'm trying to figure how to reconnect with the culture outside of their organization.
BTW, I'll look at my congregation's Property Title, and tell you whether it's in the name of the WTS. I'll post that information here later on.
