Jim Wheeler - 2005/06/26 04:16Jim, Your translation looks so cool, I have been dreaming of making a translation. I have had a few ideas. I look forward to geting to know you. Thanks for your essay too. So glad you came to the forum.
Re:Jim Wheeler - 2005/06/26 23:39I would love to discuss this in greater detail with you, for you are likely right. But then, what is the true meaning of this verse? We are always looking for more help when it comes to translating, second reading, and corrections and invite your input. Unfortunately, because of my present work schedule I have little time for online chat. So, please feel free to contact me at editor@2001translation.com. Your friend and brother, JIM

Re:Jim Wheeler - 2005/07/04 15:34Your welcome Jim, By the way could you please download this free software Interlinear Scripture Analyzer That way we don't have to discuss grammer issues which you will be able to see for yourself.
For example; (1 Corinthians 14:32) Your correction reads;
"Of course, the spirits of prophecy should be controlled by the prophets,"
To say "of prophecy" in Greek the noun must be genitive, singular and feminine. At least to my understanding.
However the Greek text in this verse is προφητων which is a noun that is genitive, plural and masculine.
Re:Jim Wheeler - 2005/07/06 00:38Once again, you are right and the correction has been made. Please recognize that the Greek Scripture portion of the 2001 Translation is now several years old and that we are currently spending most of our time translating the Septuagint (and are working on 2 Chronicles and Daniel at the moment), so we don't have the time to go back and check all the words. However, we appreciate and invite your input and help, and will continue to make corrections as they are pointed out to us. Your brother, JIM
