psychological proofs - 2006/01/04 15:05
For those who know me, as you know I have several incontrovertible proofs of God's existence; Those arising from a posteriori logic, empirical science, and propositional calculus. I would now like to consider what profound truths that can be found in the psychological consideration of God's reality.
Intrestingly enough it is the Godless who often teach me the most, albet unwittingly.
In the past I have investigated the idea that the Godless cannot, or will not, or do not believe in; loving everyone unconditionally.
For this, they give various excuses of why it is impractical to have or express such unconditional love for everyone. And this is not to say a Godless person could ever really be completely Godless, and in that respect neither would they be absolutely loveless. So usually people have love for other people in there life, no matter how small that group is.
The reason this is so profound is that the bible says "God is love". This fact cannot be more substantiated except through those who are Godless. And the very fact that they do not have, express, or believe in unconditional love for everyone is a monumental psychological fact of God's reality.
Another profoundly desturbing fact is that Godless people would not want to live forever even if it were in the best of conditions!
So, we learn from them that we could have all the material blessings in the world... but without God we would still want to die!!!!!!!
The Godless explain this view by saying that everlasting live would be exceedingly boring and lonely.
Everlasting life would be exceedingly boring and lonely because we are exceedingly boring and lonely without God and therefore would never want to have eternal life without him.
This is so, intresting to me. I have a hunch that we can learn many more things from the Godless.
Are there any other psychological aspects that you can think of?
peace, love, and understanding,
Mars
