Re:The Israel of God - 2005/04/24 04:14 Hello,
Its funny how the traditional JW mindset immediately and unconsciously translates the the Biblical word "nation" into 'religion' LOL.

If your referring to me....I was never a traditional JW and I never immediately translate the bible unconsciously. I like to take in differing opinons and then ask some questions to see where it leads. But if its still funny to you, then by all means keep LOL Its good to laugh once in a while...healthy

I guess I don't see any reason to discuss this any longer, I hope your on the floor in hysterics. peace

Re:The Israel of God - 2005/04/24 05:08 (1 Peter 2:9) . . .But YOU are “a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for special possession, that YOU should declare abroad the excellencies” of the one that called YOU out of darkness into his wonderful light.

maybe we should pray about it,

Re:The Israel of God - 2005/04/24 05:13 Hi Dodger. No not laughing at you, my friend. Or at anyone really. Just at a strange quirk of thought (or-unthought) that I observe among many JWs, and which I had myself at one time too. I wasn't thinking of you when I wrote the post (which is perhaps why I neglected to vet it to see if it could somehow be taken the wrong way), and I know you are not of the "traditional JW mindset" as I have read quite a few of your posts here, and elsewhere. But the thread did get me thinking about discussions I have had with others of such a traditional mindset in the past, which is why I brought it up. It may well have been sparked by something you or someone else said here I really don't recall specifically, I'd have to reread the thread. My only comment that was directly related to something I think you had said was the last one, and I meant no offence by it, it's just how I see it. And even that comment, now that I review it, actually relates more to comments I have heard others make in the past than to what you said, which only called them to mind.

So, apologies if my remarks came across as....well....I don't quite know....however it is they seemed to come across to you. It wasn't intended Bro.

Much Philia.

Re:The Israel of God - 2005/04/24 08:44 Hi Phi,
If you think that talking about the bible is funny to you when a persons interpretation leans toward WT theories, then thats fine with me. This is how you seem to have come across to me. Actually whats funny to me is that many people who leave this organization tend to go from one extreme to another I like to remain somewhat flexable. I've read many of your posts and others which deffinetly were thought provoking.

Good scripture Poly, seems to indicate something. I guess praying about it might be the best decision for now. peace dudes.

Re:The Israel of God - 2005/04/24 10:26 Hi Dodger. What a difference a single 'LOL' makes huh? Cyber communication can be so difficult. Its a good job we're so tolerant of each other and willing to give the benefit of the doubt.

But you have brought something to my attention. I tend to unconsciously use "LOL" when I want to soften or lighten a comment a bit. Sometimes, without it, things said can come across as a bit harsh or dry. But obviously, it can have negative connotations to some people too. Rock and a hard place, I think. But I'll watch the LOL's from now on.

Philia Bro.
