The Great Tribulation - 2005/11/18 03:17 After seeing the isolated calamities which occured in the City of New Orleans this year I feel like perhaps we now have a foretaste of what to expect in the near future.

A lot of people died at the time the hurricane arrived however, what dismayed me was the number who died afterwards due to the ineffectiveness of people and also their own selfishness through looting and crime.

Imagine what would happen if the survivors had nowhere to go?

What would happen to the world if every single city suffered a calmity of the proportion that New Orleans suffered?

If every city suffered this calamity at the same time there would be no one to help, nowhere to go.

In fact it would be better not to be inside one of these cities.

It would be better to, .... get out!

Revelation 16:17

17 And the seventh one poured out his bowl upon the air. At this a loud voice issued out of the sanctuary from the throne, saying: “It has come to pass!” 18 And lightnings and voices and thunders occurred, and a great earthquake occurred such as had not occurred since men came to be on the earth, so extensive an earthquake, so great. 19 And the great city split into three parts, and the cities of the nations fell; and Babylon the Great was remembered in the sight of God, to give her the cup of the wine of the anger of his wrath.

Re:The Great Tribulation - 2005/11/18 16:06 If the Great Tribulation was to suddenly start with an earthquake so extensive that it effected everyone living on the earth it certainly would be in agreement with what Jesus said in Luke:

Luke 21:34-35

34 “But pay attention to yourselves that YOUR hearts never become weighed down with overeating and heavy drinking and anxieties of life, and suddenly that day be instantly upon YOU 35 as a snare. For it will come in upon all those dwelling upon the face of all the earth.

The words Jesus said above suggests that for some this would not come suddenly or as a snare.

Here are some questions:

If you knew when an earthquake so extensive was going to occur what would you do in preparation?

Where do you think is the safest place to be during the actual earthquake?

Where do you think is the safest place to be after the earthquake?

Re:The Great Tribulation - 2005/11/19 16:40 OK,

Here are some places I would not want to be.

1/ Anywhere near a coastline.

2/ Anywhere below sea level.

3/ Anywhere downstream of a dam.

4/ Anywhere near a volcano.

5/ Anywhere near a nuclear power generating station.

6/ Anywhere downwind of a nuclear power generating station.

7/ In an apartment building or tower.

8/ Anywhere near a Zoo.

9/ Anywhere near a starving population of unpoliced homo sapiens.

10/ Anywhere near a population of ownerless and unfed pit bull terriers.

11/ Anywhere near packs of stray, ownerless and starving canines.

So where is a good place to be?

Where do you think we should find the answer?

Re:The Great Tribulation - 2005/11/20 00:42 I can think of three safe places off the top of my head:

1 -- In an airplane (let's hope some of us have good timing in this area!)

2 -- In a large, open field free of trees, powerlines, and other large objects.

3 -- On the ocean (Tsunami waves are barely noticeable in the middle of the sea)

Love,
Tami

Tami,

I am inclined to agree more with your #2 suggestion.

An airplane may have difficulty landing after an earthquake, especially if the runways are cracked or non existent.

A tsunami would probably destroy all of those place where you may later want to dock your boat.

I am thinking that if you were anywhere inside a city during this most extensive earthquake and survived it would be very difficult to get out of the city later because most ramps and bridges would be gone and the road surfaces would not allow automobile traffic.

Your best chance would be outside of major cities and inside of large rural areas.

The farmers should still have most of their crops and livestock after an earthquake and yet they would no longer have a way of delivering it to the cities.

Their market (demand) would be gone.

Revelation 16 indicates that all the cities will fall due to this most extensive earthquake.

I am convinced that Ezekiel is referring to the exact same extensive earthquake when he says in Chapter 38:

Ezekiel Chapter 38:19

19 And in my ardor, in the fire of my fury, I shall have to speak. Surely in that day a great quaking will occur in the soil of Israel. 20 And because of me the fish of the sea and the flying creatures of the heavens and the wild beasts of the field and all the creeping things that are creeping on the ground and all mankind that are upon the surface of the ground will be bound to shiver, and the mountains will actually be thrown down and the steep ways will have to fall, and to the earth even every wall will fall.’

If every wall is going to fall where would you like to be found sleeping when this most extensive earthquake happens?
