Re:More on the Earthquake. - 2005/11/30 06:57 If it is determined that the safest place to be during and after and extensive eartquake is in an open field in rural country and this is where righteous people will go in order to be saved.

Will they be worshipping Jehovah from there?

Please notice what was sworn to the "Powerful one of Jacob".

Psalm 132

1 Remember, O Jehovah, concerning David
All his humiliations;

2 How he swore to Jehovah,
How he vowed to the Powerful One of Jacob:

3 “I will not go into the tent of my house.
I will not go up on the divan of my grand lounge,

4 I will not give sleep to my eyes,
Nor slumber to my own beaming eyes,

5 Until I find a place for Jehovah,
A grand tabernacle for the Powerful One of Jacob.”

6 Look! We have heard it in Eph´ra·thah,
We have found it in the fields of the forest.

7 Let us come into his grand tabernacle;
Let us bow down at his footstool.

8 Do arise, O Jehovah, to your resting-place,
You and the ark of your strength.

9 Let your priests themselves be clothed with righteousness,
And let your own loyal ones cry out joyfully.

10 On account of David your servant,
Do not turn back the face of your anointed one.

11 Jehovah has sworn to David,
Truly he will not draw back from it:
“Of the fruitage of your belly
I shall set on your throne.

12 If your sons will keep my covenant
And my reminders that I shall teach them,
Their sons also forever
Will sit upon your throne.”

13 For Jehovah has chosen Zion;
He has longed for it as a dwelling for himself:

14 “This is my resting-place forever;
Here I shall dwell, for I have longed for it.

15 Its provisions I shall bless without fail.
Its poor ones I shall satisfy with bread.

16 And its priests I shall clothe with salvation;
And its loyal ones will without fail cry out joyfully.

17 There I shall cause the horn of David to grow.
I have set in order a lamp for my anointed one.

18 His enemies I shall clothe with shame;
But upon him his diadem will flourish.”

Re:More on the Earthquake. - 2005/12/22 05:03 If we have not yet experience the earthquake then I suspect we are some where after the fifth and yet immediately before the opening of the sixth seal.

This is why I am thinking this:

Revelation 6

12 And I saw when he opened the sixth seal, and a great earthquake occurred; and the sun became black as sackcloth of hair, and the entire moon became as blood, 13 and the stars of heaven fell to the earth, as when a fig tree shaken by a high wind casts its unripe figs. 14 And the heaven departed as a scroll that is being rolled up, and every mountain and [every] island were removed from their places. 15 And the kings of the earth and the top-ranking ones and the military commanders and the rich and the strong ones and every slave and [every] free person hid themselves in the caves and in the rock-masses of the mountains. 16 And they keep saying to the mountains and to the rock-masses: “Fall over us and hide us from the face of the One seated on the throne and from the wrath of the Lamb, 17 because the great day of their wrath has come, and who is able to stand?”

The opening of the seventh seal however, also produces an earthquake:

Revelation 8

1 And when he opened the seventh seal, a silence occurred in heaven for about a half hour. 2 And I saw the seven angels that stand before God, and seven trumpets were given them.

3 And another angel arrived and stood at the altar, having a golden incense vessel; and a large quantity of incense was given him to offer it with the prayers of all the holy ones upon the golden altar that was before the throne. 4 And the smoke of the incense ascended from the hand of the angel with the prayers of the holy ones before God. 5 But right away the angel took the incense vessel, and he filled it with some of the fire of the altar and hurled it to the earth. And thunders occurred and voices and lightnings and an earthquake. 6 And the seven angels with the seven trumpets prepared to blow them.

Will there be two earthquakes?

Re:More on the Earthquake. - 2005/12/30 03:15 Alex asked a really good question. One which, I have spent much time contemplating. Here is his question:

For the purpose of clarification,

since the 'holy place' according to Jesus' words in Matthew, or the 'sanctuary' mentioned in Daniel symbolises those who are in a covenant with Jehovah, who belong to him, i.e. the holy ones and the arrangement of worship, as expressed through the earthly organization, where are such ones to flee to during the time of desolation?

Do the 'mountains' mentioned in Matt. 24:16 have any relevance for the greater fulfilment?

It can be found on a thread in the paradise cafe:

I think that if he read this thread his question may be partially answered.

Re:More on the Earthquake. - 2005/12/30 03:37 My answer to Alex's question above:

In order to be prepared to flee the individual must have used some discernment to recognise the disgusting thing standing in the holy place.

There is plenty of evidence posted on this web site which should help those discerning readers.

It seems that some angelic participation will be intimately involved in regards to fleeing to a place of safety when the holy place is scourged by Jesus Christ when he opens the door in judgement.

What makes me come to this conclusion?

The scriptures:

Matthew 13

47 “Again the kingdom of the heavens is like a dragnet let down into the sea and gathering up [fish] of every kind. 48 When it got full they hauled it up onto the beach and, sitting down, they collected the fine ones into vessels, but the unsuitable they threw away. 49 That is how it will be in the conclusion of the system of things: the angels will go out and separate the wicked from among the righteous 50 and will cast them into the fiery furnace. There is where [their] weeping and the gnashing of [their] teeth will be.

Matthew 25

31 “When the Son of man arrives in his glory, and all the angels with him, then he will sit down on his glorious throne. 32 And all the nations will be gathered before him, and he will separate people one from another, just as a shepherd separates the sheep from the goats. 33 And he will put the sheep on his right hand, but the goats on his left.

Examining this thread in its entirty the reader should see that the place of saftey is once again outside of the city however, the city is both symbolic and literal.

The decision to flee belongs to each the individual. That is why it is important to take in knowledge and carefully discern wether it is the truth prior to the time to flee. The angelic intervention must therefore be recognised by the individual when it occurs so that he/she would without delay follow the instruction to flee.

What makes me come to this conclusion?

The scriptures:

Luke 17

30 The same way it will be on that day when the Son of man is to be revealed.

31 “On that day let the person that is on the housetop but whose movable things are in the house not come down to pick these up, and the person out in the field, let him likewise not return to the things behind. 32 REMEMBER the wife of Lot. 33 Whoever seeks to keep his soul safe for himself will lose it, but whoever loses it will preserve it alive. 34 I tell YOU, In that night two [men] will be in one bed; the one will be taken along, but the other will be abandoned. 35 There will be two [women] grinding at the same mill; the one will be taken along, but the other will be abandoned.” 36 —— 37 So in response they said to him: “Where, Lord?” He said to them: “Where the body is, there also the eagles will be gathered together.”

Notice in the above scripture that Luke mentions it will be on "that day".

He also makes a parallel with the story of Lot.

Each individual should prepare himself to make a very quick and uncomfortable decision.

You may have to quickly leave your possessions, friends and family behind.

Even More on the Earthquake. - 2006/01/04 02:24 I was thinking this morning about the kinds of trauma a person might have to endure or succumb to during a massive earthquake and the scriptures which foretell the demise of the evil slave came to mind.

Do the words used in these scriptures describe eartquake trauma?

You decide:

Isaiah 30 - NWT

12 Therefore this is what the Holy One of Israel has said: “In view of YOUR rejecting of this word, and [since] YOU men trust in defrauding and in what is devious and YOU support yourselves on it, 13 therefore for YOU this error will become like a broken section about to fall down, a swelling out in a highly raised wall, the breakdown of which may come suddenly, in an instant. 14 And one will certainly break it as in the breaking of a large jar of the potters, crushed to pieces without one’s sparing [it], so that there cannot be found among its crushed pieces a fragment of earthenware with which to rake the fire from the fireplace or to skim water from a marshy place.”

Daniel 12:7

7And I heard the man clothed in linen, who was above the waters of the stream; he raised his right hand and his left hand toward heaven and swore by him who lives forever that it would be for a time, times, and half a time, and that when the shattering of the power of the holy people comes to an end all these things would be finished.

Matthew 24:51

47Truly, I say to you, he will set him over all his possessions. 48But if that wicked servant says to himself, 'My master is delayed,' 49and begins to beat his fellow servants[a] and eats and drinks with drunkards, 50the master of that servant will come on a day when he does not expect him and at an hour he does not know 51and will cut him in pieces and put him with the hypocrites. In that place there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.

A small taste of the GT - 2006/04/18 23:45 Here is just a small taste of what you can expect during the Great Tribulation and the "great earthquake occurred such as had not occurred since men came to be on the earth": Rev16:17
