 Private Messages. - 2005/02/11 14:40 Hi there. I was just asked about how the private message function is accessed. As I understand it the way to check if you have any messages is to take the same route as if you were going to send a message. In any of the threads, under any post, should be a little symbol with 'PM' written on it. If you click any one of these 'PM' symbols (it doesn't matter which) you will be taken to the 'send a message' screen where you can select the name of a member and compose a message to them. Also, at the top of this same page should be a little box marked 'inbox' which if clicked will take you to your own inbox so that you can check if you have any messages. That is how I do it anyway. If there is a quicker way then maybe admin can let us know.

I have tried to enable a menu item that shows up in the left hand main menu which would alert you that you had a message. This would show up regardless of what page you were viewing. It would be ideal if you want to PM someone to go to the chat room.

Like many of the other tools on this site, it takes a bit of tweaking to get them to work - that's what happens when they are free - YOU have to do all the work - or is that ME
