New Site - 2005/03/10 19:46 Greetings all! I am new to this forum but wanted to say hello and introduce you to a brand new website that you might be interested in. Check it out at www.jwreform.org. Tell me what you think.

Re:New Site - 2005/03/10 22:05 Hi Donbodo! (check your messages )

I had a look at the site and was most impressed. I truly hope it manages to help engender change. I think that is a distinct possibility. I'm sure many suffering JWs are very grateful that some have taken the time to so eloquently and yet tactfully put together such an appeal on their behalf to their rather negligent 'shepherds'.

I used to use the handle Isaiah 59:15 and in that and the surrounding verses I think we are given a clear indication of God's feelings regarding the course of simply sitting on ones hands and remaining silent in the face of injustice, which course of non-action some class under the oft used, catch all phrase "wait on Jehovah".

"There have been transgressing and a denying of Jehovah, and there was a moving back from our God, a speaking of oppression and revolt, a conceiving and a muttering of words of falsehood from the very heart. And justice was forced to move back, and righteousness itself kept standing simply far off. For truth has stumbled in the public square, and what is straightforward is unable to enter. And the truth proved to be missing, and everyone turning away from badness is being despoiled. And Jehovah got to see, and it was bad in his eyes that there was no justice. And when he saw that there was no man, he began to show himself astonished that there was no one interposing....."

The question is not alway, can change definitely be effected? The question is simply, is it right to try? To show willing? Of course!

Much Philia.

Phi.

Hi Donbodo, welcome to Bethsarim!!

I looked at your site too. It is very well presented and very respectful of JW's. Jehovah willing it will do some good.

E-W has done alot of good, but compared to his site, your site is far more diplomatic (and I mean that in the nicest way ) When I stumbled accross e-W I was apprehensive to say the least - with titles such as, "the coming colapse of the Watchtower" I felt sure it was an apostate site, but with a prayerful attitude I tentatively kept reading and found enormous benefits.

Your site, is far more WT friendly, thus should attract honest hearted JW's to look a bit closer at their faith. Jehovah willing.

Can I ask a question please? Is your goal to reform JW's or the WT?

Your brother

Re:New Site - 2005/03/11 10:21 It is not the intention of the reform movement to "restore pure worship" in the fullest sense. We're not trying to recreate the organization in our image. We are not going to get involved in creating all kinds of new beliefs, nor are we going to get involved in the nitty gritty details of how the organization is run. Our goal is only to encourage the Society to change three very important policies that have been a detriment to the brotherhood and which the Society is very reluctant to change. It needs encouragement from the grass roots level.

The reason I enjoy your site and ideas so much is because they help us define what is wrong and there for we become more likely to provide a solution.

My question for you is; should a Jehovah's witness be allowed to teach hell fire without worry of reprisal or disfellowshiping?
