undeserved kindness - 2005/03/12 02:26 Hello everybody. This is my first time on this site and I really like it. The things that are discussed are very encouraging. Just reading all the posts that people have made, I can see that Jehovah is really feeding those that are sincere searchers of truth. It just reinforces in my mind how undeserved we are that Jehovah has seen fit to enlighten us on various matters. I am blown away by the things that Jehovah has shown me and by the way he answers my prayers, I feel so unworthy that Jehovah has taken an interest in me and is actually concerned about my feelings! This kindness is so undeserved but Jehovah wants to extend it to whoever he chooses. My love for Jehovah extends hundred fold when I think about this and makes me want to exert myself to show love to whoever I am faced with.

Looking forward to getting to know you all.
Love to you all from Minnie.

Re:undeserved kindness - 2005/03/12 03:42 Hi Minnie, nice to meet you.

Yeah it's a kindness that just IS, isn't it? 'Undeserved kindness' is rather similar to the idea of 'unconditional love'. God just is that was because he IS that way. "God is love"'. Thank goodness! LOL

And I guess it's infectious too, just as Aaron pointed out in his replies on the 'Love' thread here, that love is what God would have us BE, just as He is. As we experience it from Him so we are compelled to share and express it with others....which is where I guess your loving first post came from Glad to have you with us.

Much Philia.

Phi.

Re:undeserved kindness - 2005/03/12 21:45 Is there some reason why Grace is translated Undeserved Kindness in the NWT?

Grace is so much more than just kindness.

Grace allows us to do things that would be and should be physically impossible.

It lifts us from the level of sinful, wreched, blind idiots and makes us sons of the most High.

That's more than just undeserved kindness surely? That's phenominal.

I was talking to my friend who suffers from BPD (borderline personality disorder) and who is being healed in leaps and bounds) and she was saying that she believes her faulty personality means that she can never quite be acceptable to God.

Grace allows us to know that it is God's faultlessness that counts. We've all got faulty personalities to some extent. (Some of us just pretend we haven't.)

God's faultlessness covers our faults.

Thankfully.

Shalom Rav.

Re:undeserved kindness - 2005/03/13 00:27 Hi Warrior.

Yes, you are probably right. I was raised as a JW so the word "Grace" was never part of my vocabulary and it's meaning as a word is not something that is familiar to me (though I am familiar with it now as a concept and as an experience). "Grace" probably is a much more evocative word. It still doesn't trip easily off the tongue for me though. Thats WT 'training' for you, I guess.

Much Philia.

Phi.
