Knowledge puffs up, but love builds up. If anyone thinks he has acquired knowledge of something, he does not yet know it just as he ought to know it. But if anyone loves God, this one is known by him - 1 Cor 8:1-3

Re:Another Sort of Good News? - 2005/03/23 19:47 amosfamily,

I think the issue is not whether Christians should be organized or not, as if there were only two options. This is a false dichotomy. The issue is about the degree of organization. HOW organized should they be? So we should approach the question differently than we have been. The right answer will be found somewhere on the scale between very loose organization and micro-management.

Re:Another Sort of Good News? - 2005/03/24 04:47 The Society has certainly played the dating game to the hilt. By doing so they have stumbled many and have brought much reproach upon God's name.

Having said that though, Jesus did give signs to look for and keeping on the watch is something very much emphazized in the Bible. A good balance would be to keep on the watch for those signs Jesus spoke of and other fulfillments of Biblical prophecies but to steer clear from predicting dates. It's not dates we need to know but events such as those Jesus gave in Matthew 24 and in many other places. The ten virgins did not know when the Lord would come, they had no date or time given them. What they needed was to be prepared and the five were. So too we need to be spiritually prepared while also keeping aware of world events as we go about our daily business which is increasing the Lord's minas.....God takes care of the timing.
