Your points are well taken. You are right that the WT is "worshipped" as an "idol" by some, but it is not that to everyone. And I don't think it's logical to conclude that because some people idolize something, we should have nothing to do with their idol. My point about the Jewish system was not that it corresponds prophetically with the WTS. I was showing the principle that Jesus lived by. The Temple was idolized by some, but he still went there and worshipped. He worshipped Jehovah. He didn't like some things there (like the money changers), but he still went. So I cannot criticize people who go to the Kingdom Hall. That is a matter of conscience. On the other hand, I cannot criticize those who don't go either. They have (or may have) good reason for not going. It is one of those things that is between the individual and God.
Hi Don,
Thanks for clarifying this. I see your point now. (I hope )
Regardless of the 'legitimacy' of the WT system, each Christian can only act in accord with their own conscience. If one viewed the WT as the mouth piece of God, and left the org. - in their heart they may, in fact, have left Jehovah.
Whereas, another may not view the WT this way and yet 'traverse land and sea' to stay within its bounds and dissuade any from leaving. Either way, hypocrisy is evident.
With respect Don, the 'legitimacy' of the WT might be a good thing to consider as far as the thought of reform goes. Saul sincerely believed he was pleasing God when he watched Stephen perish. Though the measures were rather drastic, were not he and the rest of the loyal Jews attempting to 'reform' these 'wayward' Jews? (ok, I might be stretching the word 'reform' but I think the principle applies). Fortunately for Paul/Saul, he was actually interested in pleasing Jah rather than preserving the system.

PS - I am so glad we can speak frankly and openly. I lie awake at night worrying that I come accross stroppy and arrogant - it is not my intention. It is great to have differing opinions, this way I can test my own.
Thanks everyone!!!
