Re:Thinking of conversion - what say ye? - 2005/03/20 09:56 The baptismal questions ask if you will now accept being called one of Jehovah's Witnesses. One is still baptized in the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit.

Hi, seems your the best canididate for membership within our congregation.
Knowing the advantages of the truths we learn as Jehovah's witnesses and knowing some of the inherent failings of the watchtower corporation make you valuable to us as Jehovah's witnesses.

I don't believe the bible supports child baptism and water sprinkling so I would encourage to get baptized by a Jehovah's witness. Full water submersion.

I believe God's name is important and worth calling yourself a Jehovah's witnesses.

peace and love,
Mars

ps. of course if you see problems with the watchtower corporation (as we all do) then the watchtower corporation will not baptize you. But you are free to be baptized by the Jehovah's witness co-operative. If you see problems with us you may effect change. That is the difference.

Re:Thinking of conversion - what say ye? - 2005/03/20 10:37 Hi Watcher!

Is that right? I wasnt aware of that. At what point do the Society go "baptising them in the name of the Father and of the son and of the holy spirit?" (Thats a serious question, I'm not being funny. I acknowledge I may be wrong here)

I do know that the original JW question specifically referenced the Biblical Father, Son, spirit formula in order to harmonise with Jesus command regarding baptism. But they changed that in 1985, and instead of the spirit they now ask about acceptance of the "spirit directed organization"....which is not at all the same thing.

Re:Thinking of conversion - what say ye? - 2005/03/20 10:41 Hi Mars.

Jehovah's witness co-operative? What exactly is that? And what does someone baptised by 'it' become? Has it baptised anyone before?

PS. Are you sure there are no legal complications regarding using the name "Jehovah's Witness" with regard to a "co-operative" when one is no part of the WTBTS?

Re:Thinking of conversion - what say ye? - 2005/03/20 11:18 Although on second thoughts, I retract those questions Mars, as this is thdurands thread and I don't want to distract from the specific questions he/she raised or confuse the already difficult issue. This might not be the best time or place to discuss those matters my questions raised.
