Re:Was the holy spirit created? - 2005/03/26 13:23 Mars-
Have you read the March 8, 2005 Awake? On page 20 there is an article - "Is God Everywhere". Under the sub-heading "God's All-Reaching Holy Spirit", is this quote: "While the Bible always refers to God as having a specific dwelling place, it often speaks of His Holy Spirit in ubiquitous terms. "Where can I go from your spirit, and where can I run away from your face?" asked the psalmist David. (Ps. 139:7) Some have been confused by such references and may conclude that God is omnipresent. Yet, when considering the context of this and other texts, it becomes clear that Jehovah's Holy Spirit - or power in action - can be extended from His fixed location to any place in the material universe."

They're not still trying to locate Him on a star, are they?

Re:Was the holy spirit created? - 2005/03/26 18:03 Bea... are they now trying to say He lives on a planet, or maybe with the Mormons GOD on Kolob

I'm just kidding..... but it's really getting to the point that those above us are more and more resembling the Cathiloc church with their Holier than thou attitude and that we're not smart enough to understand scriptures on our own.

They have done good in the past concerning the preaching of the kingdom and the witnessing work but now all their teachings and prophesies seem to be falling to pieces and I think as time goes on, they will be left with nothing to stand on.

just my 2 cents worth.. LC

Re:Was the holy spirit created? - 2005/03/26 18:30 Hi there Polemotheos....

I was just over at Pathways this morning and posted something on the trinity debate that has been going on over there ... it came to me out of the blue before my morning coffee so I'm not sure if the thought comes across the right way ... but here it is .

We have also been taught that GOD is not a name or an individual entity.... but a title of authority, a headship position and as such may contain many subordinates .

GOD is the Spirit of Truth and anyone who is guided and directed by this Spirit of truth is a part of GOD.

The Angels are part of this Spirit of truth and so were able to present themselves as ( GOD ) in the Old Testament by representing this Authority ... Spirit of Truth.

Adam was anointed and brought to spiritual life by this Spirit of Truth ( God ) and so was also a representative of this authority .. by partaking of the deceitfull and lying spirit he lost this authority to be a representative of the only True Spirit ( God ).

Jesus was also part of this Spirit of Truth and was personally anointed by God and continued in this True Spirit until His death because deceit and lies were not found with Him.

So I guess what I'm trying to say is that ...

We need to get away from this mental picture that the WT has painted in our minds about Christendom worshiping some sort of spiritual being having three faces ... because it's misleading ....

The Father ( in Head position, is this Spitit of Truth ) but the Son, him being the exact representation of the Father, the True Spirit inherits all power and authority ( but is not the original Spirit of Truth , the one that had no beginning ) ....and the Holy Spirit ( which can be given and instilled into any individual ), raising them to Spiritual life is also this True Spirit ( GOD )...

The heavenly Angels, messengers, are also part of this Spirit of Truth because they emanate from the Father who is in Head position.

So, I guess what I'm trying to say is that there are many beings that are part of this Spirit of Truth but there is only ONE Who has no beginning and is the ONE who is the originator of ALL things and this is the one we call ABBA ...

They are all Part of this Spirit of Truth ( GOD ) but in a lower position to the Father but are all part of GOD.

Well, that's about as best as I can explain it ..

I hope it makes some sense....

with much affection, LC

No kidding, AB. Surely you've heard of this before? ---------------
"That with great weight, the constellation of the seven stars forming the Pleiades... that one of the stars of that group IS THE dwelling place of Jehovah(Almighty God)... because the Pleiades IS the place of the eternal throne of God."

That is a quote from an early magazine - an article written by C.T. Russell in the late 1800's I believe.

Maybe He does live there - do we know? No - but stating it as fact that others should believe to be so-called 'good Christians', possessers of 'the truth' - is wrong. You're right about becoming like the RCC - it's relative of religion in general, isn't it?!

I read your post on 'The Spirit of Truth' on Pathways (EXCELLENT!) - what I've always said, that to define God as 'only' three persons is severely limiting Him to what He can do - why do we mere humans insist on limiting Him in any way shape or form? As if we can - which we can't - but some people don't get that.... JW's put Him in a nice neat box, too....hope there're air-holes in those boxes....

Love to you, AB, and everyone, and peace of mind,
Bea
