A Word of Caution - 2005/03/21 15:07 Hi Friends,

I'm new here. I read about the JW reform movement on Channel C and would like to add a word of caution.

The Watchtower as we all know is on a witch hunt. If you put your name to a letter or petition, friends, you must recognize the sad fact that you will most likely be targeted by the Watchtower.

I am all for reform but I am not for the killing of my friends. Please be aware of the dangers inherent in signing your real name to a petition or letter calling for changes in the Watchtower.

For the Watchtower major changes never come from the bottom up and sadly we all are at the bottom unless we are Governing Body members or other Brooklyn upper crust.

I fear for those who hope to enact change and who trustingly sign their name to letters petitioning for change to the Watchtower. Their names will be forwarded to their congregations!

May you have peace,
Josh

Re:A Word of Caution - 2005/03/21 15:53 Josh thank you for your concern. I personally would like Don to put my full name on the petition but he is only putting our initials for the very reasons you address.

I look forward to getting to know someone that cares as much as you.

Your brother,
Mars

Re:A Word of Caution - 2005/03/21 18:43 That's right, Josh. The signers of the petition only need include their initials and the city they live in. That's enough to show the recipients that they are dealing with real people, but not enough for them to be able to track these people down.

Re:A Word of Caution - 2005/03/22 11:21 Glad to hear that. Innocent as doves and cautious as serpents, this is what the Son of God our friend and redeemer said we should be. And for good reason, he knew what his disciples would be up against. So, as we keep our hands clean from innocent blood we also keep our guard up against those who have been blinded by the god of this system of things or by their own hearts.

Peace to you,
Josh

Hi Josh, I'm new too, 5 minutes ago. I am troubled by the above part of your post, not sure I've fully understood it.

Re:A Word of Caution - 2005/05/09 00:37 Hello Josh,

I also am new here. I don't understand what you mean by saying, "So, as we keep our hands clean for innocent blood, we also keep our guard up against those who have been blinded by the gods of this system of things or by their own hearts. Who are blinded? Keeping our hands clean? Please explain.

Kathy
