Lessons from Job - Shaihulud's essay - 2004/09/22 16:19 I enjoyed this article. One point that I particularly liked was, Job's knowledge of God was not as important as his heart condition. It reminds me of Paul's words in 1 Corinthians where he says, 'God chose the foolish things of the world'.

If we keep our hearts true to Jehovah, he will teach us thru his word and spirit. Though the lessons we receive may be hard to bear, we can take comfort in the knowledge that Jehovah 'scourges everyone whom he receives as a son.'

I also liked that Shaihulud alluded to the fact that we will all undergo an hour of test, like Job did. This must have direct connection with Satan accusing Christ's brothers day and night before God, just as he was in Job's case.

One of those scriptures in Ezekiel is interesting too. 4 injurious acts of judgement, very similar to the 4 horses of revelation....

Thank you for sharing your insights with us Shai!

Re:Lessons from Job - Shaihulud's essay - 2004/09/23 12:29 Unless you have faith like Job you will not survive the Great tribulation. Much will happen and we may not understand it all but the main focus we must have is faith in Jehovah. No matter what happens. In death or life torture etc... Jehovah is God and he giveth and taketh. Like the three hebrews we must make the decision to serve Jah even if it means our life. He who seeks to save his soul will lose it but he who gives it up will keep it.

Amen to that one SoC. Yes Shaihulud also agree that it is faith that is going to save us. That is belief in that which is not seen or visible. We have been pushed into putting our faith into something visible and which supposedly will edure. When in fact we are told that this is a city that will not continue (Heb13:14). This is I think part of the great apostasy, that the Society will continue and be the salvation of the people so that it may be said: "Look this is your God, O Israel, who led you up out of the land of Egypt" (Ex 32:4)

Knowledge puffs up, but love builds up. If anyone thinks he has acquired knowledge of something, he does not yet know it just as he ought to know it. But if anyone loves God, this one is known by him - 1 Cor 8:1-3
