Josh I am in agreement with you. I truly believe it is possible to define a co-operative organization of witnesses.

Be that as it may. Maybe you can help define how that can be accomplished.

Humility, humility, humility.

Love God.

Love God's Son.

Love our brother.

Let Jesus be our Teacher.

Let God be our Father.

Do not make man our Teacher or Father.

God is love, Jesus is love, we should be love.

Be free in the love of Christ and allow our brother to be free also.

Nothing is more important than a good conscience.

Nothing is necessary but only the words and teachings of God's Son.

If the Watchtower lived by these things they would rule the world not by their own strength but by the strength of God.

Peace to you,
Josh

Re:Will There Be Anything Left? - 2005/03/22 16:15 Pole, to respond to your baptism question, I guess we would first have to discuss what baptism actually signifies. I understand it as the beginning of a new life, rather than a middle or an end. I don't see any evidence for "baptismal questions" in the Bible, so I probably would never know if the candidate was pro-war at the time. I would simply ask the person if he knew what it meant to be a follower of Jesus. If he said that sounded good and was sure that this is what he wanted to do, I would baptize him.

Hey Don and Poly, I think this is right. If our bro then goes off to war and starts to shoot people does that mean we boot him? I think rather we try to get him to honor the Prince of Peace. If we get him back to the things Josh outlined then we are gaining our bro. If he keeps on that course he himself has left the body. We figure out them how we act towards him according to our own conscience.

On your point in this thread Don, I keep coming back to some universal things along the lines of Josh's post (BTW howdy bro, nice to see you if you read this )
God's org will be the body of the Christ, the spiritual organization. This may or may not consist of JWs who have the beliefs you mentioned but would IMO consist of the one Josh mentioned.

As I have said before, I am not sure there should be a "witness organisation" just one joined to the body of the Christ.

much love to all

Knowledge puffs up, but love builds up. If anyone thinks he has acquired knowledge of something, he does not yet know it just as he ought to know it. But if anyone loves God, this one is known by him - 1 Cor 8:1-3

Come on now what if they say they are serving God by being in war. Lets say they explicitly tell you this before baptism. Will you still baptize them?

Re:Will There Be Anything Left? - 2005/03/22 17:16 No, I would not. But that would be a personal decision. I'm sure he could find another Christian group that would.
