If we have to re-examine everything we have learned so far and sometimes even get confused of all the new insights and overwhelming details, then it might be a good time to determine what the most important thing in our lives is. The basic of it all, our true roots: our relationship with our Creator, Jehovah God. 

The last few years I’ve heard many stories about persons who didn’t know where to begin with their research for truth. After discovering so many disturbing facts, it seemed like everything that was ever told to us as true, had been destroyed in one single blow.

The ground under our feet seemed to have vanished completely. Where do we stand ? How to separate the two: lies and truth? Of course, we all tried to apply 1John 4:1,2 as thorough as we could. We have become very cautious, distrusting even, to open up for strong opinions. Maybe we will fall in the same trap, we thought. And there is nothing wrong with being cautious.... Caution is very important. It can prevent us from falling in a trap.

But, after the dust was settled, after the impact of the hard blow of reality, certain facts have endured the test and were proved to be good. Back to basics, we went. Back to the basic, to the fundament of irrefutable truths and faith. Every single person shall walk on his own path and will live to experience his own growth, in his own pace. Not every one will make the same decisions at the same moments in time. It is not for us to interfere with someone else’s decisions. If Jehovah gives us freedom of choice, who are we to deny that privilege to anyone? Jehovah gave us the example how to give our love to our fellowmen. After trying to apply what Jehovah has taught us, we can only do one thing for our fellowmen. And that is……… giving witness of the effect Jehovah had in our personal life. Giving witness of our own relationship with Him and telling others how we ourselves are encouraged by His Love, His other perfect qualities and by His promises. We can only hope they will benefit from it and then... we could leave it to that. Just letting the other decide for himself what to do with the info we shared with him, without wishing to put any kind of pressure on that person.     

 A lot of understanding is needed to discern how on earth it was possible, in an organisation of persons who (in general) have the sincere wish to cultivate a close relationship with Jehovah, our relationship with Jehovah got damaged? Especially this fact has left many devastated and  restoring faith in Jehovah’s love and care can take a long time. There are only few who come out of these trials of faith with little damage. Especially persons who had been abused by people they trusted completely need a lot of help. Also persons who gave their unlimited trust in people who claimed to be Jehovah’s mouthpiece, have to find their balance back again.

What can we do to help each other? To help each other to strengthen our relationship with Jehovah, the most important thing in our lives?

 We’ll have to go back to the fundament of our existence.

 How could it come this far?  

If you let me, I would like to share my thoughts about this subject:  

The lies that have been told about Jehovah God, are lies that are printed in our minds by words or patterns of behaviour and they can damage us for life, if we would do nothing about it.. 

To give you some examples…..

Idolatry, in any form, is an obstruction, an interference, for a good, solid relationship with our Creator. But in fact it is initially offered to us as a means to get closer to God. How misleading.

The teaching that hell is a place God uses as a tool to punish us, is also an obstacle for many. An everlasting burning fire where people will burn for ever and ever. How many people have turned their backs to God because they are disgusted by a God who is capable of giving punishments like this?

Or the idea that it is ‘Gods will’ to let people die in disasters as the one in Asia, last December. To illustrate how deep this thought is anchored in our culture: These kind of disasters are called by the insurance companies : Acts of God.

This thought is a thought that has led to the sad result that many, many people don’t want anything to do with that kind of God. Even some brothers and sisters are being misled and confused by it.

An experience in our personal lives can also be the reason we alienated from God. Some people are so terribly abused or mistreated by others. If that is caused by persons who claim to serve Jehovah, they have caused even móre damage. This can be the reason that a person finds it very difficult to cultivate a healthy relationship with Jehovah God. At the same time it can be very hard for that person to commit himself to other persons in his life and have normal, loving relationships.

It breaks my heart as I realize that words, spoken by certain people in our personal lives, can have such a devastating impact. Such lies damage the most important relationship in our lives, namely the one with our Creator. These lies are like jamming stations that prevent us from having a clear sound or image. It doesn’t resemble to the actual source what so ever.    

This post in an attempt to break down this WALL of lies between us and Jehovah.  The breaking down itself must be done with our own hands. 

The first lie was the first successful attempt to make Jehovah look like a LIAR, a person He wasn’t. Satan gave a false image of Jehovah when he started talking to Eve.

From that first lie onward Satan got very busy with his life work: Promoting and providing in an image of God that is false.

As a reaction to these false accusations...... what did Jehovah do?

He didn’t let Himself be tempted to act in contradiction with His real image..... His true BEING. He acted truthfully, according to His real self image, making plans to fulfil His goals, so the offspring of these ungrateful first human couple could be saved from the bad results of Satan’s schemes.

He even gave His Firstborn Son to save humankind from an eternal death and inevitable destruction of all living things on earth. Satan obviously tried to prevent such a loving act, because this act and other loving acts of God would contradict with his idea of what truth is (lies), spoken to Eve.His lies would be exposed as being just lies.

But Jehovah’s plans were fulfilled according to His Will, and with Jesus’ help it was proven that Satan was/is a Liar. (John 3:16,17; John 17:25,26; 1 John 3:8; 4:7-10) Nothing could stop Jehovah from doing His Will. Okay, now Jehovah’s Words, written down in His Book and many events during history, including Jesus’ sacrifice, could no longer be denied. Now what ?!?

Satan had to come up with more lies to cover up Jehovah’s Love.

How to cover up LOVE ? How could he make people believe God was not Love? He used a method that still proves to be very successful:

IF FACTS CAN NOT BE DENIED, THE PERSON’S MOTIVATIONS WILL BE ATTACKED.

Sow the seed of doubt about someone’s motivations !!!!!

But... can the one who sows the seeds of doubt change the person he attacks ?

No, not really. Jehovah for instance did not change His Loving Personality. He is still LOVE.

The only thing that Satan can do to give an attempt to destroy a good relationship is to try and influence the other party. If that seed of doubt can be sown in the hearts of Jehovah’s creations, then it might be successful.

To brake up or damage a good relationship , just sow doubt about the sincerity of the other person. Satan is happy when he can succeed in his efforts to destroy love and our healthy, strong and loving relationship with our Heavenly Father. He will use every opportunity to accomplish what he has in mind, because he KNOWS that having a truthful image of Jehovah has an irresistible, magnetic power which attracts us to come close to our Creator. We ARE MADE to be close to Him.  That is why this yearning is always there within us.

Only if that relationship with the Source of Love and Life is restored we will be satisfied and whole. It is the fundament of our happiness and a strong self-esteem. Knowing we are loved by our Maker and being aware of His approval. Satan knows what kind of power that will give human beings. He will do anything within his power to prevent that from happening.

A person who is hurt, during childhood or during other life periods, hurt in súch a deep way by evil human beings, can get damaged in his/her natural capacity to accept and express love.

That ability IS STLL THERE, but sometimes it is covered with lies that people told about Jehovah’s character. Also lies about the own persons capability to love. So much that it seems almost impossible to find that inner core of what people are actually made of: LOVE.

Satan has indeed control over many forces in this world and beyond and tries to KILL every positive, up building thought, especially positive thoughts towards our Creator and ourselves.

His attempts to destroy hope, faith and love seem irreversible for some people. Because , when Satan has succeeded, we will be much easier to handle and he will arrogantly boast that hé has proven to be the one who has spoken the truth and not God.

Please read 1 John 4: 18,19.

Fear and guilt have always been powerful weapons and it is clear that we can find these ‘weapons’, not only within the world and many of his thought-processes, but also, sadly enough, among those people who clame to give witness about Jehovah and His Supreme Love. THAT is one of the most successful schemes Satan has set up to stumble many.

What a powerful weapons they are !!!

Spoken to a little child these lies about Jehovah, giving a false witness, a false image of Him, are to strong to fight against. But, as we grow older and learn to discern certain things in life, we start to re-examine the ‘so called truths’ that have been taught to us as a child. Questioning everything makes it possible to discern the thoughts/ ideas that will prove to be either good or false.

Sometimes a thought can be so deep, that although we intellectually KNOW the meaning, our emotions can be strongly attached to these thoughts and these emotions are not so easy to control. Most of these emotions are involuntary, in our subconscious. To control these emotions we need to examine the source of them, the first sown seed of thought that started the emotion in the first place. That can be just as hard as the work of a surgeon doing heart surgery. But in order to get ‘healthy’again, this kind of ‘surgery’ has to be done.

The source of the damaged relationship between our Creator and us is Satan. Lies, seeds of doubt, spoken by Satan and people who reflect, consciously or subconsciously, the same false image of God, are like a WALL between us and Gods Love.

This WALL that can be pulled down, brick by brick, lie by lie, in order to prove that Satan is the LIAR, (Proverbs 27:11)nót Jehovah.

Then we can start to restore our relationship with Jehovah and we will be able to establish a healthy self esteem. During that time Jehovah will prove to be Our Helper. He will not let us do it on our own.

Although the scars in our soul will be there as long as this imperfect world exists, our relationship with the Source of Love will be perfectly restored in the future. Until then Jehovah will reach out to us through His Word and explain to us what His true Personality is all about.

God’s true image will be made known. Jehovah will prove to be Love. Love is stronger then Satan’s lies, spoken through men or through spirits. (John 8: 38-47)

May Jehovah’s Love reach our heart and make us whole.
